About

A VHR is an exclusive Hungarian artisanal brand founded by Rákhel Varga. She holds a degree in economics and later pursued textile and fashion design at the Budapest Metropolitan University. The origin of the brand goes back to a unique moment of inspiration: one morning she woke up with the clear image of a handbag she had seen in her dream, and that very day she created the first model based on the vision that appeared to her.

Every VHR piece is entirely handmade in her atelier in Telekgerendás, where Rákhel completes every stage of the process herself — from cutting, gluing, stitching and shaping to the meticulous final hand-finishing. A single handbag can take up to 26 days to complete, as the brand is built on the principle that precision, respect for materials and true craftsmanship cannot be rushed.

One of the signature elements of VHR is the innovative, self-developed technique used for the side panels of the bags, created by combining wood and resin. The natural grain of the wood and the glass-like clarity of the resin result in a distinctive structural and aesthetic feature that defines the character of each piece. Because the pattern of the wood and the resin work can never be repeated exactly, no two panels — and therefore no two bags — are ever identical. Each one is a unique imprint, shaped by the meeting of natural materials and handcraft.

The exterior of the bags is made exclusively from premium Italian cowhide, goatskin and lambskin, complemented by durable, elegant metal hardware. Rákhel also repurposes the leftover leather pieces into unique accessories and jewellery, integrating sustainability as a natural part of the brand’s philosophy.

VHR is created for women who value handcrafted, characterful and unrepeatable pieces, timeless quality and authentic elegance. Each bag carries a story that becomes complete in the hands of the person who wears it.
